MLTR BREEDING

Molter B.V. started breeding perennials in 2002. Due to the great success of the Penstemon Riding Hood Series, we have developed a great passion and interest for the development of new, exclusive perennials. On account of this passion, MLTR Breeding was founded.

The key activity from MLTR Breeding is the breeding of perennials. The demand for perennials with specific attributes, both for potted plants as well as the cutflower market, increased rapidly. These attributes include strong plants which are resistant to multiple diseases and plagues, so the plants do not need any pesticide treatment. Another goal is to breed a variety of perennials for different geographic and climatologic areas in the world.

Kniphofia Candy Series

The Kniphofia Candy series was found in 2010. Nowadays the series consist of four bright, playful colours: this explains the names ‘Banana Gummy’, ‘Slush Puppy’, ‘Gummy Apple’ and ‘Cotton Candy’. The Kniphofia Candy series is planted in spring and flowers in June-July. The height of the plant varies between 55 to 100 cm – this varies per type. The Kniphofia Candy is a special plant because of her lively colours and her peculiar shape. The plant looks like a bright rocket and is the main focus of every garden once she flowers.
